Cleaning schedule?

Hey! I'm a SAHM and I have a 2yo and a 5mo HOOOWWWW are y'all keeping your house clean?! I constantly clean and then I get burnt out and don't for 2 days or so and then my house is TRASHED. I'm so depressed by it and feel so low about it. Any advice?

My husband cleans. I barely have energy for my toddler 😵‍💫

What exactly is messy? Before I give any advice I just wanna acknowledge that you have a 2 year old and baby under 6 months. It’s okay for your house to be messy! But I understand not feeling your best when your surroundings are in disarray too. It helped to keep things in one room. At least if there’s toys everywhere, they’re in one place and not in 3 different rooms. If it’s things like dishes and etc, wash as you go. A routine of some sort helps too. I know the babies may not be on the same schedule, but using naps effectively is key too lol.

I honestly think the thing that helps me the most is I pretty much never leave an area of my house messy before moving to the next without cleaning it. For example, after every meal I always do the dishes. I never let them sit. Or if we’re in the play room upstairs, and we want to move downstairs, we always clean before we leave.

our bedrooms are all upstairs and we do not hang out in the bedrooms so they always remain clean so usually once a month I go upstairs and I do a whole vacuum and tidy anything I need to but generally it’s untouched so there’s not much to do there except clean bathrooms, which I do weekly except for the one bathroom that doesn’t get used at all and that one I just do monthly. My downstairs area consist of the living room, the kitchen, the playroom, and our powder bathroom. Clean once a week or as needed, and my sons playroom, I typically will clean and reset the playroom every night or every other night because sometimes he doesn’t make a huge mess in there, but I do have a gate block and separate off from the rest of the house to either keep him in or out so sometimes I’ve cleaned it and I don’t want him to go away. I just tell him the playroom is closed and generally in the morning when we come down and keep the playroom closed until we’ve done our whole morning routine.

As far as our kitchen or living room, those are the messiest ones because my son for the living room just comes in and throws whatever into the living room so I just go around throughout the day and throw stuff back into his playroom and that keeps it fairly simple. there are no toys situated in my living room at all, which makes it easier because I can just put everything back into the playroom. The kitchen I’m constantly always wiping down counters and to help ease my stress and my workload for the day, my husband has the only duty of washing the dishes and loading and unloading the dishwasher so he does all that, and that helps me not think of that as a daunting task. I haven’t been picking up throughout the day in the kitchen at the end of the night. It can feel overwhelming, but it’s actually very clean. I just try to keep up the mess because if I take a break from cleaning, I get very overwhelmed and end up in a worst position. As far as vacuuming, I vacuum pretty much daily

And I mop weekly my son is 2 1/2 and my daughter is four months

Wait, you clean your house 😳.... joking, honestly I only do bits and pieces as I can. It's rare when I have all the house spotless. I swear I can hear the toy box emptying as I'm writing this.

The house is never clean like it used to most of the time it's super messy and I have only one baby 7 months old ! Take it easy moma

My place is never clean. I absolutely hate cleaning.

I have a 3 month old 🫠 I don’t sleep when so do I work around the house

I have a 5yr and 1yr I’ve given up 😭

We have a weekly cleaner my husband and i decided we needed to prioritise the funds for one. And we both tidy and clean the heavy traffic areas at the end of the day together; vacuum, wash pots, run dishwasher and put washing away. As I'm not an housewife I provide childcare/education for my children as they are at home full-time with me.

@Monét girl the whole house 😫 my husband and I are both ADHD so we just be running around leaving stuff everywhere trying to take care of these babies :( I'm pumping all the time as well. Before I had kids I was cleaning a lot because of how ADHD I am but with these kids I'm struggling. It takes ALL of me to keep them on a schedule because I have never been on one. We will def try keeping the toys in one room because that sounds like it would help SOO MUCH. Thank you lol!!

@Brittany I'm gonna start doing this for sure!

This is my fav hack. I’m an ADHD mom too 😂https://www.tiktok.com/@destini.ann/video/7233794232954228010 https://www.tiktok.com/@destini.ann/video/7244319730646011179

It’s so helpful! It’s obviously a pain sometimes and my kids aren’t always happy about it lol! But I swear it makes upkeep so much easier and hopefully it’s teaching my kids good habits 🤷🏼‍♀️
