Trying for a baby whilst breastfeeding

Anyone else trying for a baby whilst breastfeeding? We planned on stopping breastfeeding at 1 year old if we haven't got pregnant and now that's next month's and I don't know what to do. I want to get pregnant but love breastfeeding and my son loves it too so a bit conflicted. We're desperate for another baby so they are close in age.

I got pregnant while breastfeeding my 2 year old. Didn’t know until I was about 4/5 weeks along, had to stop as it started to get really painful with all the hormonal changes.
Definitely possible to get pregnant while breastfeeding, we weren’t trying but also weren’t preventing as we were happy either way

Currently 20 weeks pregnant and still breastfeeding my 2 year old. She has actually naturally started weaning a bit since I became pregnant - some days only having a night feed (if there is even any milk still there!), but she was still feeding lotsss whilst we were trying to conceive 💕

Not trying to be rude but I just don’t know why people say this. Sperm meets egg, it implants, then you are pregnant. This is why medical professionals ask you what birth control you are going to use after birth! There is nothing to make you less likely to get pregnant again.

As you breastfeed, your prolactin levels go up which do all sorts of weird stuff to your body and definitely makes getting pregnant harder.

I got pregnant whilst breastfeeding, my little girl self weaned and just stopped and I found out I was pregnant 2 days later! Pregnancy can change the taste of your milk apparently? My periods returned 6 months PP. Luckily she took a bottle as we combi fed x

I've just finished BF my 13month old and I'm currently 31wks pregnant. I got pregnant when he was around 7 months, took 3/4 months of trying. We only stopped feeding when he was 1 because I don't wish to tandem feed and needed a few months for him to get used to the adjustment for him plus it still hurt me like hell, BF sucked for me. I'd recommend getting ovulation strips to help your journey, I was ovulating but not having periods for a few months so was so helpful in helping us fall 😊

I breastfed throughout my last pregnancy.

We started trying when my daughter was 6m old and EBF got my period back a couple weeks before her 1st birthday, had my period twice and got pregnant.

Every day there’s someone on this app saying they can’t believe they’re pregnant and they were breastfeeding. It’s possible. I also know women that have breastfed while pregnant and breastfed more than one child at a time. Try not to think about and keep having your sexy time. It will happen when it’s meant to.

You can certainly get pregnant while breastfeeding, I did. But I also got my period back at 6 weeks postpartum. So I was ovulating again very quickly and once my cycles leveled out I was easily able to track them and conceive. a lot of women don't ovulate when breastfeeding, at least for a little while, so if the women isn't ovulating you can't get pregnant. Birth control is great precaution because you usually won't know the first time you ovulated after having a baby until you get your period or find out your pregnant. has your cycle returned yet?

I got my period back 6 months postpartum. We were actively avoiding another baby but had sex on ovulation day at 9 months pregnant (I use natural cycles so I knew what day it was and could’ve avoided it) and we got pregnant that first try. Unfortunately being pregnant tanked my supply so my son weaned because of that but it’s absolutely possible to breastfeed while pregnant

I got Prego twice while still breast feeding

I got pregnant right away after trying while breastfeeding and continued to bf for the first few months of pregnancy.

My boyfriend booked a trip for us to go to mexico for a week as my push present. I have severe anxiety leaving my 7 month old with my mom. I know she will be in good hands but she’s exclusively breast fed for the most part but accepts bottles just fine. i have all my pumping parts packed and will pump when baby normally eats but i don’t want baby to forget me or have latch issues when i return!! any mommas ever experience this?

Vanilla extract

Has anyone used alcohol free vanilla in their babies formal to help them drink?
I’m 100% sure my baby refuses her bottles as she doesn’t like the taste of it!

Just anxious to try it, don’t want her to get used to it and then refuse bottles again after two weeks of using (correct me if I’m wrong but I’ve read you use it for 2 weeks max)

TIA 🙂

Car seat crying

My 6 month old PANICS the second I put him in a car seat and screams, cries, chokes and recently even projectile vomited on a 14 minute drive. It’s gotten to the point I don’t even bring him out unless it’s to a doctors appointment. I’m a stay at home mom with no family in my state and it has been very isolating. We’ve tried 3 different car seats with no improvement. Has anyone had a baby who hated the car seat? Any advice? This started at 3 months. I will add it does seem worse when he’s tired. He does cry on every trip though. He only contact naps and co sleeps so he reaches for me and will not sleep in the car seat.

Sex post C section

Hi ladies I’m 4 weeks 5 days postpartum and I had a C section. I’m not bleeding properly anymore just some brownish discharge stuff that starts on and off. I’d like to do the deed with my partner; is it okay to do so or shall I wait the full 6 weeks. I feel up for it but also worried because the advice is 6-8 weeks.

Postpartum

I’m only 3 days postpartum (FTM) and already have extremely bad anxiety. I’m crying every night, as I think of another night of no sleep. My baby will not settle in his cot, he cries every moment we put him down unless in his chair rocker. So me and my partner are having to alternate after 3/4 hours of being awake with him downstairs. I’m trying everything to get him to settle. It’s a load of overwhelming stress. I’m 23, I was desperate for a baby and now I have one and feel completely useless. I miss it just being me and my partner.
