How much did it matter to have relationship with Provider who delivered your baby?

So I am almost 31 weeks and just had a pretty negative experience with my OBGYN. I don’t feel relationally safe with her anymore and was thinking that a midwife would be a better fit for me and my birth plan anyways… In order to switch practices I can’t get an appointment until I’m 33 weeks, plus I have to see a doctor first and then MAYBE see a nurse-midwife if they determine my pregnancy is uncomplicated enough. This particular practice rotates midwives so whoever is on call is will deliver the baby, and I definitely won’t have enough time to try and see everyone or really build relationship with anyone in particular. How much did having relationship with the provider who delivered your baby matter to you? I’m leaning towards not knowing someone would be better than being with my OB who I now feel uncomfortable with. Please share your thoughts!

It didn’t matter at all. In the UK, for the majority, the midwives who help you to give birth you will have never seen before.

Like Lisa I'm in the UK, I had a community midwife who I saw throughout pregnancy but when it came to delivering it was the person who was on shift and free to take a new person on. They were lovely people.

In Aus here and none of the people who took care of me during my pregnancy delivered my babies.
