Weaning off medicine

Has anyone weaned their baby off medicine for SVT? My 10 month old daughter is going to be getting off of Sotalol in a few months and will be wearing a heart monitor to make sure she doesn’t go back into SVT. Im a bit anxious about the process so I’m curious about others experiences. Thank you!

Skin conditions

Sticky electrode patches

My 5 month old was recently in hospital with a HR of 240 due to catching covid. He was monitored for 48 hours to make sure he didn’t go back into SVT.

Now we’re home and he has 3 big sticky patches on his chest from where the electrodes were. Any advice for getting this off? We gave him a bath to soak them but it didn’t really work and we don’t want to hurt him by rubbing too much

Trying for a baby

New here!

Hi everyone, my baby was diagnosed with SVT when I was 28 weeks pregnant, treated with flecainide. We gave birth at UCLH in London and straight away our little man had an episode. He’s been on flecainide since, but unfortunately had 2 more episodes since… which has led to further hospital stays and the introduction of propananol. He’s now 8 weeks old and we’re now on 6x daily meds, but he seems much more stable.

So keen to meet any other mums with SVT little ones so it doesn’t feel so lonely. Is anyone else under the care of GOSH?

Signs of SVT

Hi all,

My son was diagnosed with SVT when I was 32 weeks pregnant. This was controlled with digoxin via myself and then propranolol 3 times a day. He is now 13 months and touch wood hasn’t had any SVT episodes since birth. The specialist now wants him to come off his medication to see if he has outgrown the SVT or not. I was wondering what other babies / children’s signs of being in SVT are? We’ve been told a few to look out for but hoping you can help with some signs too.

Thanks for reading and hopefully sharing the signs of your babies SVT. I am so nervous and anxious about this move away from medication

Trying for a baby

New member- 28 week diagnosis

Hi all! I know this isn't a very active group since this condition is rather rare but I'd love some postive stories. I was diagnosed at 28 weeks, and have been hospitalized since- (it's been almost a week now). We have the rhythm just about controlled with digoxin and flecainide. I'm hoping with my next dose it won't spike back up. How did the remainder of everyone's pregnancies go, and your births? My midwives had a patient a few years ago that had controlled SVT and delivered with spontaneous labor. I know baby will definitely have a stint in NICU- how long were your babies there for? Thanks for any support and advice!
