My girl is 4 months and still 10pm roughly for bed time. How do I get this earlier? She is definitely ready earlier for bed. Any positive stories of people using pick up put down method?

I fed my four month old to sleep for her nap and then popped her in the crib, she woke up but was quite content so I left her there cooing away, it has now been twenty minutes and she is still cooing to herself, should I go in and pick her up and settle her or leave her a little longer and see if she goes to sleep?
