Baby shower dilemma

So for my baby shower IV sent out an invite along with my registry to all guests, as I’d never show up to a baby shower or any kind of party empty handed even for party’s if I don’t really know the person well I’ll get them a large bottle of alcohol or a candle or gift card, I would litterly never show up empty handed to any kind of party.

So I’ve sent out the invite and registry to all my friends and family, when it was my husbands turn to send out the invite and the registry he was against sending the registry and didn’t like the thought of asking people for gifts.

I told him it’s not so much asking for gifts it’s more a guideline because inevitably people will want to buy a gift and I don’t want anyone spending their money on something I won’t use as it’ll just gather dust.

My registry is full of very cheap £5 to more pricey £67 gifts so everyone has a general idea of what to get me whatever their budget is.

My husband has proceeded to invite people who barley know us and not sent them the registry and said he’s not sending it because they don’t really talk, and he doesn’t like the thought of asking people for gifts my issue is, if you “don’t really talk” whyyyyyy would you invite them to such an intimate event as a baby shower?!!

Tell me do you agree with me or my husband?

Teacher Easter Basket?

Hello everyone! I’m a FTM so of course I have NO IDEA what I should put into a little gift/easter basket for my son’s daycare provider/teacher. He’s only been going a couple weeks and I can see how much he’s learning and how his socialization has changed by being with other kids and I want to give her something a little special. She is an older lady so tech forward things are not necessarily what I think of when I think of her. She is a very sweet woman who also happens so be very important in my own life outside of daycare but we don’t spend a lot of time together so I’m stumped on ideas. Please give me your suggestions, she does so much for her kids and I really want to show her my appreciation. Unfortunately I am not super financially flexible so something budget friendly but still a perfectly accepted gift would be great. Thank you in advance for your suggestions!

Baby shower party favors

What else would you put in small party favors bag. They will be black organza bags with some Hershey kisses, and a magnetic bookmark. I am trying to think of things people can either eat or use. Most of my friends are avid readers so I know the bookmark could be useful. I am trying to think of one more thing. I dont want to spend a lot on things that just get tossed, because let's be honest no one really keeps that stuff

What’s a cheap little gift you could buy for anyone. The only thing I could think of is a scratch off lottery. What else is there?

I’ll take any ideas?

birthdays & stepdads..?

my little girls 2 soon & i have been with my partner since she was about 6 months old. what do other people do with ‘step parents’ and presents for birthdays? i’ve always said i feel some sort of contribution to decorations/presents is fair, but this seems to end in an argument. it costs a bomb and it would be nice for a little something towards it.
what are peoples opinions on this?
thanks x

Tell me if I’m being too personal

How much does your partner give you a month for your little one? Or do you agree on what things you get?

Etsy Fees

Why are Etsy selling fees so high?!
I know Etsy have a constant stream of online shoppers that's what makes it successful

Does anyone else sell anywhere else? I'm looking into selling Digital items rather than physical, if that makes a difference?

3rd Birthday Party

Am I wrong for not getting my daughter a birthday present after spending around $600 to throw her a birthday party? I’m sure she will get gifts from all her friends and our family but thinking how much we spent on her birthday party itself makes me consider not doing a gift in addition. Thoughts?

Muslims and birthdays

A family moved in next door and they are Muslim (this is important).
I have spoke to the parents a few times but not enough to consider it a friendship. So I feel awkward asking them.

Our kids are similar in age and there daughter plays with our daughter everyday. We learnt today that her borthday is in 2 weeks.

So the question is: is it appropriate for us to buy her a gift from our daughter?
Is there anything specific we should get her?
Or is this crossing a cultural/religious line?

For reference she will be 12.

What are we giving our soon-to-be 3yo for their birthdays?

We have the magnetiles, we have the kinetic sand and play doh, we have the play kitchen…

Literally, is there anything left in the world to buy this spoilt kid? 😅

Is it appropriate to give a card for Eid?

My neighbour has been fasting for Ramadan and I wondered if it would be appropriate to give a card for Eid. He gave us a Christmas card and I want to return the favour.

How much did your engagement ring cost? Broke girl edition

Mine was a $60 from pandora that we picked out together and my only regret is not being able to adjust the band size due to the metal quality. I still wear it as a neclace often. ❤️

A gift for my son 4 years in the making, 14 years to go

I started this avocado tree from a seed the week my oldest was due with the idea of gifting it to him as a birthday gift for his 18th birthday. So when he’s old enough to move out he has a mature tree that hopefully can fruit.

I’ve had it in a bottle with water and fish tank water as fertilizer from the beginning and it’s still growing new length, branches, and leaves every year.

I cannot wait to give it to him when he’s older but I’m so attached to it I’ll be sad to see it go 😂

Diamonds

So I saw a post on another platform where someone was wondering why anyone would buy natural diamonds anymore since they have lab dimonds now and I commented

"I told my husband I want dinosaur poop diamonds not dog poop dimonds. lab dimonds could be made from anything natural dimonds are made from life on our planet billions of years ago and that to me makes them beautiful.
but there are businesses where you can send ashes of your loved ones and they will make you dimonds out of there ashes so I will be doing that with my 1st dog when he passes. my husband and I have also already decided that when we die he is going to be turned into dimonds and made into bracelets and im going to be turned into necklaces for our children. so they can always hold us close to them rather than just sitting in a jar or in the ground. might as well speed up the process. 😋
In my opinion the dimonds that you are able to choose what they are made out of are more special and valuable rather than dimonds that are most likely made of trash or rotting food."

What are your thoughts and preferences?

Has your child(ren) ever made an unauthorized purchase on one of your accounts?

I left my son to watch tv alone in my room while I switched the laundry over and not 2 minutes went by before I got a notification thanking me for a 1 year peacock subscription of $116.

Luckily Roku refunded me and I’ve since added a pin but now I know it really is that easy for kids to make quick and expensive purchase without us knowing.
