This is the first time she has had a fever

My girl turns 8 months old on the 8th of June and is teething agian. This is the very first fever she has had in her life and I don't know what to do to help her. We are switching between Tylenol and ibuprofen every 4-5 hours and cool baths but she still feels hot.

Fever is actually a good thing, shows her immune system is actually fighting. Don’t use cold water, what makes them shiver which actually raises her temp. Do warm baths for comfort, fluids and if she’s over 102 then dose her.

According to our ped they should just feel warm when teething but not have an actual temp when taken. Might be sickness I’d ask your ped. We do Motrin for teething pain as it’s easier on their body!

as long as it’s under 100.4 it’s not a cause for concern :) it’s so hard to see them with a fever though i feel so heartbroken when my baby has a fever too

i read somewhere to put a 1/2 cup of apple cider vinegar in the bath to help with fevers

My girl has a fever too. It spiked to 103.5 last night. Alternate every 3 hours, keep the room cool but not cold, light clothing, warm baths as cool can make their body warm up, a small amount of pedialyte to help stay hydrated as they are burning more fluids, you don’t have to use medication if the fever is staying low. You want the fever to fight off the infection. Let baby sleep and don’t wake her to give her medicine. If she becomes hard to wake up or you can’t wake her up take her in. My nurse line said they really only recommend you take them in with a fever of 105 unless baby is hard to wake up, won’t eat, isn’t acting like themselves. They said the medication is meant to bring the temp down by 1 degree after an hour and that’s the same thing they will do at the hospital.
