F is for Febrile Convulsions
A febrile convulsion is a seizure caused by a high temperature.
Febrile convulsions typically happen to children under the age of 6 and are most likely to happen between 18 months and 3 years.
If you little one has a seizure you should:
Time the seizure
Call for an ambulance
Remove any obstacles to avoid injury
Cushion around their head to avoid injury
After the seizure you should:
Check their airway is clear and their breathing is normal
Remove a layer of clothing or bedding
Monitor them until the ambulance arrives
My little girl has suffered with them since she was 12 months x
