Gaslighting sounds like..

Have you heard any of these before? ✨ Today I wanted to speak to a topic that is near and dear to my heart - gaslighting. Growing up (before gaslighting was a term that was commonly used) I had a few friendships that were very unhealthy for me. As the people pleaser and the perfectionist, I tried so hard for so long to make it work no matter how much it broke me. Gaslighting is REAL, and its hurtful. Creating this post brought up many previous emotions for me that I hadn’t thought about in years. Anxiety can make this experience even more intense for many because it will start to feel those comments with more and more limiting beliefs. If you are experiencing any of these statements, I am so sorry you have to go through this. You deserve all the love you so freely give to others, and if someone does not support your in the way you need, or is gaslighting you, it may be a valuable time to reflect on if that person needs to be in your life and the role they are playing in your life 💕 I acknowledge that not every situation is easy by any stretch to create distance from the person gaslighting you, but I hope this post is helpful in facilitating reflection on the people in your life ✨ Sending love, Carly

Yep I was told one of them before ☹️

I'm hearing that all the time

I told my partner that I hate living where we are and I want to move back from my hometown, he responds, “why are you so negative?” It immediately triggered me and made me upset… I feel like I was being gaslighted. Am I wrong for feeling like that? Like is it just me? He says that there was nothing wrong with what he said. It’s just a “question” but I feel like that’s gas lighting me in a way……. If I express my frustrations, I expect him to understand me…. But instead he questions why I’m so negative????
