If your insurance doesn’t cover anything don’t waste money and most importantly time on IUI. Chances are lower even for ppl without fertility issues and on average takes 3-4 tries. I did IUI mainly because it was covered and I was on waitlist for IVF, otherwise wouldn’t waste money on it.
I didn't have insurance and went through 10 months of IUI. What a huge waste on my part. We ended up doing IVF and found that my eggs had an Armour shell on them and we had to do ICSI. I was able to get pregnant with no issues 9 years prior, so things can change for unknown reasons.
Morphology issue as well and I have PCOS. Two failed iui’s and I regret using part of my insurance benefits for it instead of just doing ivf. (My insurance only covers so many treatments) I personally don’t believe we would have gotten pregnant with iui and are starting ivf this month.
I’m currently unexplained with a slight male factor issue. My husband has low motility. We went through 3 failed iui’s and ended up doing IVF anyways. IUI’s can work for some. However, IVF tends to be more successful.
My insurance has a life time max so i went straight away to ivf to save the money
