We are 6 and half months and I do the exact same thing pop a Muslin under his mattress and into the cot as he likes to chew and play with it to fall asleep xx
4 months but with caution, she only has the comforter to fall asleep then once she's asleep the comforter is removed for safety and only given back if she wakes for a feed and is struggling to go back to sleep on her own then it's removed again, if she doesn't have her comforter she uses her blanket which is full of holes so I'd rather she used a comforter x
I'm probably over cautious but our son is 20 months next week and still doesn't. He just knows they don't go into his cot with him and will take things up and put them by his bed ready for the morning.
@Gemma my daughter is 3 years old and only recently started letting her have teddies 2 bed with her I still get paranoid now though lol soon as she’s gone sleep I move them away from near her face x
@Sarah yes I think I'll probably be the same. I am a lot better than I used to be but I do get paranoid so as long as he is just happy to put them by his crib then I'll keep it that way. Yes I think I'd be doing the same. X
8 months. We introduced jt for naps first and he moved it if it went over his face. He honestly loves his comforter and probably wouldn’t sleep through without it
i gave my little boy a teddy, that he loved playing with, to sleep with around 12 months and he has slept so much better since with it
4 months. But very supervised at the start. Used to be in the room or have monitor to watch her. And when she was asleep moved away from her face. That was with naps and would fully remove from cot for night sleep. Was just before 6 months when I’d let her keep it in the cot for a few weeks before she went to her own room. Works amazing for us. Settles her so well. She just plays with it and rubs it on her face. Also has a dummy and white noise. But she has always been very good at settling with these things and normally goes to sleep in about 5 mins of putter her to bed.
Did you all make it smell like you when you first gave them a comforter? Or not needed?
I just sprayed pillow spray on it
I spoke to my health visitor about this and she said 6 months as long as its a small square comforter style
1 year
I’ve just started in the last couple of weeks with my little boy, he’s 8 months old and can really confidently move around in his big cot so I feel ok about it 😊
