There’s varying percentage of accuracy for different chromosomal syndromes. For Down, it’s 99% roughly…for others it’s lower.
Having a high risk doesn’t necessarily mean there’s a problem. Similarly, a low risk doesn’t guarantee there’s none. If it’s high risk, they usually recommend more diagnostic tests which will yield a more accurate result.
