It’s been pretty quiet in our group. How are you all doing? How are these teen years treating you? My 15yo got his learners permit 3 months ago and I have been enjoying being a passenger princess. Nobody prepares you for these bittersweet moments, when you go through phases where you wish they would grow up a bit, then they do and you wish they were little again🥺 We definitely don’t have a manual for the ups and downs of their teen years but I think it gets better as long as we don’t give up on them or blow a gasket every time we have to repeat ourselves😆 patience is key— and I’ve been learning to communicate more with my son, even though he shuts me out which is normal, I let him know I’m here no matter what. Right now I believe that’s all they need to hear as we let them navigate their own feelings and lives.

Hey there! My daughter got her license last year but started actively driving herself to school in January. It's great cause that's 1 less thing I have to do. Also she just got a job last month. Time is moving so fast and is harder to have control over her. My (bonus) son just got his license on spring break so he's quickly following right behind her. 😩 I'm not ready to let them go. 💔

@Becky it’s such bittersweet moments watching them venture out into the world and become their own person, but as a mom we wish they would stay safe in our arms forever. Time is most definitely not our friend. I’m not ready yet either 😭

So true! I wish she didn't have to work but she wants more things then I can afford. Nails, make up, clothes, hair dye, go to the movies, exc.. My bonus son doesn't care to buy stuff but can really blow his cash on his gf 🙈 so that's the only reason he wants a job... you can't tell these kids nothing anymore lol... they have to learn for themselves 😅

@Becky oh ain’t that the truth! How old is your bonus son? I told my son (15) he needed a part time job because he recently got a gf, and I’m buying the flowers, and dates— I’m like dude you’re expensive alone, I need you to pitch it if you want to do all this extra stuff 😆 He does chores around the house so I Zelle him for doing them so that semi helps him.
