Weaning help

Hi My baby is 6 months and we started weaning 2 week ago. I introduce a new food every time but she’s not having a balanced diet. For example, she’ll eat carrot puree one day, avocado the next day. I am worried Im not doing it right and should be giving her a balanced meal with protein, veg & carbs? Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks

You don't need a balanced diet while introducing solids. Milk is still balanced enough. Just keep offering and exploring and as more food is trialed you'll start to make meals which will have more components to it like what you mentioned. Don't stress and keep it fun!

I don’t think you need to stress too much but after a few weeks of starting weaning, I tried to introduce combinations. So for example, why not try avocado and egg mashed together? Or you could smear the carrot purée on some toast. By about 7.5 months, I would say I was doing “balanced” meals for my LO because she was eating quite well at them and enjoys variety. But some babies may benefit more from just having one thing put in front of them at a time- they’re all different!

Thank you! That’s really helpful. Im just overthinking everything I do 😢
