Timing contractions?? Am I in labour?

Hi ladies I’m 39+3 and not sure if I’m having contractions. Lost my mucus plug last week but no signs of water breaking I’ve been using pregnancy+ app to time. Contractions/pain is around lower back and lower abdominal area and lasting between 1-1 min 30 secs but intervals in between haven’t been consistent ranging from 5 mins to 13 mins?

I’d say so yes , they won’t be consistent straight away , try rest as much as you can xxx

If they have been happening for s few hours then you're in early labor. I went to the hospital when this happened to me but they sent me home because they were consistent or close enough. If you're worried, you can go to hospital to get checked but I had early labor contractions for 24 hours and it was terrible and exhausting.

@wiktoria same

It looks like it could be early labor or your body practicing to prepare for the labor process. I would try going for a walk if you can or even sitting on a yoga ball if you have one to help but don’t wait for your water to break if they get close together not everyone’s does. I lost my mucus plug 1 week before labor and had the “bloody show” (which is when you lose the rest of your plug with blood in it) and started labor contraction 30 minutes later. Please practice breathing and if you’d like a birth plan chart message me and I’ll send it over. Good luck😊.

Hi there, I had inconsistent contractions throughout my whole labor, including last minute when the baby was coming out. They would range from 10 to 5 minutes intervals and they will last about a minute or more from the beginning of labor. Even though it was an unusual, my body dilated and did everything that needed to do and we had a beautiful natural birth, so hang in there and trust your body ❤️

My contractions ranged from ever 4 mins in the end but also kept shooting to 24 mins apart sometimes, they told me I was “just in early labour” until they checked me and I was 4cm in active labour. Keep going for as long as you can xx

I was in early labour and having contractions for 136 hours 🤣🤣I only got to 2.5 cm I was sent for emergency c section under general anesthesic and spinal tap didn't work fully ...only on one portion of my body it was really strange I was even induced both ways to fasten and slow down contractions that didn't work either,I guess she was feeling stubborn 🤷‍♀️🤣

What’s the app?

@Agos I was the same! Midwifes suggested multiple times to go home because they weren’t close enough together or inconsistent but the next time they checked how dilated I was I was 6cm! Thankfully I spoke up and said nah mate, this baby is on its way and I’m not going anywhere haha

@Anna hey it’s called pregnancy+

The only thing that helped me was sitting on a yoga ball in the shower but I can't advise it sense it's pretty dangerous if you're not used to it or if the ball is too small to wedge itself in there well.

Looks like it! Get as much rest as you can because when they get stronger, you won’t be able to get any sleep. Ring the hospital when they’re lasting for longer a minute each and if you get 3 in 10 minutes! Or if you’re in a lot of pain and struggling. Mine started out like this in the morning, I went for a big walk and lunch, then they got closer and closer in the afternoon and by 11pm my daughter was born!

Yeah could be today or tomorrow or Saturday before baby is here mines stopped and started

Good luck! Sounds like prelabor!

Drink a big glass of water and take a bath, if they don't stop then you are in labor. But I suggest eating something high protein that will give you energy and walk around, get stuff done while you can. It will make the time go by faster when you're not focusing on them. If you are in labor, eventually they WILL get closer together and then you will know.

Looks like Braxton Hicks cause the inconsistency labors is when it more predictable as in every 5-7 mins for over an hr straight and getting stronger progressively
