Napping when baby naps- tips please!

Can anyone else just not nap when the baby naps? I've only managed to do so like twice in his nearly 4 months of life. I just always see his nap times as the time to love on my animals, or get some chores done, or just zone out in front of the TV. But especially being back at work now, I know I need to get at least a little nap for myself in the afternoons. For anyone who can sleep when their baby sleeps, teach me your ways! 😅

Idk. Something in my brain just says sleep time when she sleeps I don't know. 😂 I've been extremely tired more sense after the baby came but I would have to push more & get things done like you bc I'm like a fucking sleeping zombie 😂😂😂.

I have the opposite struggle, staying awake when baby naps lol as soon as i hear those little snores, im in a comfy spot, and toddler is also dozing off…its game over lol

Nope when my baby naps I hit the ground running lol. But he sleeps during the. Night so I don’t really need to nap with him during the day

For me I always got sleepy when I bf my daughter and she’d drift off and then I’d be shortly behind. Her being sleepy made me sleepy. Maybe it’s your setting and not dark enough? Maybe there’s just too much going on around you? I know I would turn off the lights and close the blinds and it would be quiet in my house, so I am sure that definitely helped. Also I decided to put off chores.

My 3 month old will only nap in the carrier so I tend to do the chores with her attached. Sometimes I can transfer her, but I never know how long that will last and I cant stand the thought of just drifting off and her waking again 😂

I’m the same way as you! Not a big napper. I prefer to spend my time alone doing other things besides sleeping! I will occasionally, but more often than not I’m not sleeping during the day. My husband on the other hand will at any opportunity. 😅

I am currently due with another in October. I’m trying to get as much rest as possible before he gets here so when my 18 month old naps, I do too. I get about 4-5 hours of sleep at night, interrupted of course since I have trouble sleeping, and 2 during nap time. So not even a full 8 hours but I need that nap 😂. He sometimes just naps for 1 hour.

I was able to nap while my baby slept for the first couple months because I was so exhausted but now I have trouble. Even if I'm tired I have trouble falling asleep and napping. Sometimes I just close my eyes for a while and figure it's better than nothing.

It’s a myth 🤣

I've never been able to nap when baby naps. I tried to do it with my first but actually found I felt worse for it as it was taking so long to fall asleep that I was then being woken by her and I felt so rough afterwards. Haven't even tried it with my second and his sleep is awful so I could defo do with more sleep 😂
