Positive test after mmc?!

I had a mmc exactly 3 weeks ago and decided to have a d&c. Slight bleeding and cramping for a few days but nothing major. I was told to take a pregnancy test 3 weeks after which I did this afternoon.. it’s still positive 😔 quite faint but line is defo there. I will call the epu in the morning to ask what I should do but has this happened to anyone? I was counting on my period soon to start trying again but I feel like this is going to mess up everything as I am assuming you can’t get your period when you still hve hcg hormones in your body?! Any insights appreciated xx FYI we haven’t had sex since the surgery as feeing quite anxious about it so can’t be a new pregnancy

they can’t really do anything about hcg still being in your system depending on how far you were it’ll take some time after my miscarriage i was told to take a pregnpregnancy test 2 weeks after and mine was negative took me 2-3 months to conceive again i’ve had 3 recurring miscarriages

I still had a positive test until close to four weeks. My period came at about 4 weeks too. My doctor said to call him if I still had positive tests at 6 weeks or if I didn’t have a period by then as it could indicate that there were retained product still inside after the d and c.

I was testing after my D&C, I think roughly 3 weeks later and I had a very strong line. I continued to test for the next 1-2 weeks and the lines were getting fainter. I then had my period and I needed to get bloods from my fertility specialist, and on there was hcg. I got the results and it was 30 (about 6 weeks after the d&c) I had a follow up blood test about a week after that and it was 22. So I still managed to get my period even with some hcg in my system, I hope it all works out for you, too.
