Raw fish while pregnant

It's still early for me, so I haven't seen an OBGYN yet. My question is, is it really not good to eat any raw sushi? Even fish from safe sources and lower in mercury like salmon? Thoughts?

This is such a big debate in my household because my husband is in the seafood industry - mainly high grade sushi type seafood - tuna & salmon. When he knows the source (you’d be SHOCKED AT THE AMOUNT OF LYING and back door deals that happen specifically and more so in the USA) he has let me have some sashimi in my pregnancies from those sources bur few and far between. And if I do it’s Salmon. I had oysters once and that went really wrong so I got nervous about how bad it could be because if you get any bacteria that cause seafood food poisoning it crosses over into the baby and can terminate the pregnancy I finally decided it wasn’t worth it. But I did tell my husband after I give birth I expect a tray of sushi in my hospital to show up 😂

@Torie Thank you for this! I appreciate all this advice... so hard to not have sushi over the summer, but I definitely don't want to risk anything.
