Your best thrifts!

Tummy time pillow (Fischer Price) £5ish/snooze shade £7ish / baby sling £20ish off Vinted Sleeping bags off Vinted and EBay I also got brand new Mam bottles for cheaper on Vinted Free stair gate off FB You can usually find Moses baskets for a fraction of the cost on FB marketplace Charity shops seem to have the shnuggle baby bath/angel care baths so look out for those

Everything lol 😅 the kids bedroom furniture is all second hand from fb marketplace, I look for clothes in larger sizes at thrift stores, almost all our furniture is second hand! As long as it can be thuroughly cleaned I’ll take it! Definitely avoid second hand car seats becuase you don’t really know the history, I also prefer new mattresses and bedding, new bottles and anything that would go in a child’s mouth.

I’ve got almost all everything! Pram, cotbed, next to me, Moses, sleepyhead drawers with changing unit, toys books and 99% of clothes. I’m also cloth nappying and I got those second hand too

Baby bath seat/bath, sleeping bags/swaddles, moses basket, bath thermometer, groegg, tummy time pillow, dreamegg white noise machine, nursing pillow + pregnancy pillow, pumps (i just bought new cups/flanges/tubing for about £20 vs £150+ for the pump new), sensory toys/cards, books, playmat, baby carrier are all from vinted aswell as a good few weaning bits packs of teats dummys bottles etc all new n unopened, seems like such a waste of money and perfectly good items. Vinted is my favourite as you can filter very good, new without tags, new with tags etc. I’ve even convinced my partner whos a bit of a snob about second hand baby items how great it is considering how little use they actually get out of them🤣

Have a look on Facebook market place… I’ve got quite a few bargains from there, especially now my boy is a bit older e.g a jumperoo for £10, a walker for £5

Also charity shops are often great for baby clothes

Nearly everything. Vinted, FB, charity shops, car boot sales, hand me downstairs, we aren't fussy, I just hate spending crazy money on something as it says baby with it! And they get used so little too

Highly recommend reusable cloth nappies. We used them first time round and have just added to the collection (thanks marketplace!) for baby number 2 who is due any day now. Our local council offer a reusable nappy scheme incentive - £75 towards the cost of reusables split into 3 x £25 over the first year of baby’s life - and I can use them online with my preferred brand :) So check your local authority to see if they offer similar schemes, then get looking into the different types/designs available. They aren’t as scary as you might think and should save you a small fortune in nappies. Xxx

I got loads of baby clothes (in really good condition/with tags on) from a few local charity shops and then a few bundles off of vinted🥰 but pretty much everything i’ve got for baby was second hand other than car seat and pram🫶🏼

@Emma how do you usually wash them? I'm expecting a baby, so I thrifted a pack of 4 reusable nappies just to try and see how it works. But I'm a bit confused should I really have a big bundle of them to wash separately from all other clothes or collect them dirty and then wash all together with other baby's popped clothes?

@anna sorry I wrote out a response to you the other day but apparently didn’t hit send 😂 You can wash them with your other washing or separately, it’s up to you. I mostly wash them separately, but that’s only because they wash at 40c and I prefer my clothes at 30c - I have washed them with my other washing to make up load though. They don’t like fabric softener, so when I do wash them with my other stuff they are in the towel wash only. Make sure you close any Velcro and unpop the poppers. Use liners when on baby and then it will ‘catch’ most of the poo, but they can be soaked in the likes of vanish prior to washing. There are lots of stain removers available specifically for reusable nappies (the ones I use sell their own). I soak them in vanish as routine every few weeks to try and keep them looking nice - I’ll be looking to sell them on once my sighted has finished with them - she’s only 5 weeks now though so will be a while yet 😂 xxx

I have a breast pump you could have if it’s any help. I’ve only used it twice and it’s been sterilised and thoroughly cleaned! X
