Just found out I’m pregnant

Heyy We’ve got a 3 year old girl, and in Jan we lost a baby at 20 weeks.. We’ve just found out today we are pregnant. It’s still very early but I am trying to be very relaxed and try and control too much anxiety 🙈 But I just wanted to know what others did when they were to call the dr to let them know? Shall I just stick with folic acid or shall I move to pregnacare? I also really don’t want to go back to the clinic was at with our second, it would just be too raw I think. Did anyone choose against going to the same clinic ? Many thanks !

So sorry for your loss and I would definitely give your doctor a call as they may want to give you extra scans to make sure this pregnancy is okay. On the other hand, congratulations on this pregnancy🩷

Congratulations. I always think what will be will be, so keep calm and don’t be stressed. If aren’t comfortable going back to the previous clinic then I would definitely look else where, as long as you’re happy. I would go to the doctors and let them know what happened etc & as the lady above said, they may scan you more frequently pending on your previous circumstances. But for now stay positive 🙂

@Peanut you’re so kind thank you.. and I really agree , I’m trying to think that way very much so .. just to keep myself more grounded as I know how crazy it is to overthink 🙈 thank you for your reply x

@Julia thank you.. I will I’ll do an extra test tomorrow just to be sure but I’ll maybe call the dr and see what the process is. I feel bad as my midwife was lovely there but I just know I’ll be overwhelmed 🙈 thanks so much for your message back x

@Sophia do you do another one?😂🫣

(1) Congratulations on your pregnancy. It’s completely normal to feel overwhelmed and anxious. I find what helps me, is knowing that I’ve already been through the worst and come out 10x stronger 🤍

(2) 100% ensure you let midwives/your GP know asap. They will hopefully then be able to get you on the right track to give you the best support x I too lost a baby at 20 weeks last August. I am now 33 weeks pregnant, due again this August. The care I have received this time around has been second to none. I was offered additional reassurance scans (through the NHS) & also told that I could call up & request additional scans if needed. I haven’t really taken up this offer as my anxiety is mainly heightened at scans, as this is how we found out that I had lost our daughter. Ive also been offered more tests & I now have fortnightly growth scans to monitor our baby. I’ve also been assigned a team of specialist midwives that focus on continuity of care - a member of this team is guaranteed to be with me at birth. They’re all aware of my history & none of them are strangers to me. This means I don’t have to tell my story each time - they already know, which lightens the load greatly.

@Holly I did one everyday lol.. all got more and more positive ! Thanks for checking in 🩷🩷 how’s your pregnancy going ?

@Francesca ah this is so true 🩷 that’s really good thinking. I definitely want to try say this to myself !

@Francesca ahh I’m so sorry to hear this. Unfortunately I know how you feel 😣 I’m so glad to hear you’ve had this support!! I can’t imagine how you must feel during the build up of the scans.. I hope all goes well for you this time, you have a very good support system so I hope this helps you get through any worries / anxieties you may have !! I think I can contact a team at my hospital and then hopefully after that, similar to you, I won’t need to keep repeating my story as that’s half the upset isn’t it 🤦🏽‍♀️ Thanks for sharing your situation, although it’s terribly sad hearing about it, it does make me feel less isolated 🤍 If you ever wanna chat, I’d be happy to ! Any positive support is always a win for me ☺️ x

@Sophia currently at the hospital suspected misscarrige 😞 started bleeding..

@Holly ohh Holly I’m so sorry How are you now ? Sending a huge hug x

@Sophia still bleeding unfortunately....😞

@Holly how far are you? Are they able to do a scan x

@Sophia no because my HCG was too low it was 460 when it should be over 1000 so an ultrasound wouldn't show much apparently x I was ment to be about 7 weeks but maybe I'm earlier I'm not sure ...

@Holly I get it.. 😣 I’m so sorry. I hope you get some answers v soon!! Thinking of you x

@Sophia the doctor confirmed I did infact miscarry I would be 8 weeks tomorrow but sadly it wasn't viable it just wasn't progressing so they might have to do a DnC on me if it doesn't clear up 😞
