Genuine question

I don't want to be mean, but I honestly need to know. Why do people insist on buying the cheapest pregnancy tests they can get and then ask if it's positive or negative? There are tests that literally tell you "Pregnant" or "Not Pregnant". And they are not that expensive. Rather than taking 3-4-5 cheap ones (cause it's unclear), why not buy the one that's straight forward?

Some take one cheap then use the digital pregnant/not pregnant to confirm and see weeks etc. Clear blue do a pack just for that. I considered it when buying mine but by that point I was 4-5 days late and getting dizzy climbing the stairs so I KNEW something wasn't right so I lumped straight for the digital one that was like £10

@Bethan that makes sense. I just don't understand why people insist on the cheap ones and then there's posts all day long on Peanut asking if it's positive or not...

Sometimes people just want to hear it from someone else because it’s encouraging especially after a miscarriage or a very long time trying. That might be the only test they have in that moment and they want to hear those lovely words even from strangers - yes it’s positive!! I was abroad when I found out and only had the cheap ones with me, the line was the faintest ever but I was so excited after going through a miscarriage all I wanted to hear was that other people saw what I was seeing!

For me the clear and simple pink dye tests just always work the best and quickest and are the most accurate and are £1. They always detect first and have never been wrong, the clear blue ones just don’t work great for me personally and the line is always faint while the clear and simple ones are strong and come up straight away and the one time I spent £10 or so for a digital one it was inconclusive because the test didn’t work 💀 it put me off. Also blue dye tests are known to be more inaccurate anyway by default so I always go for a pink dye test

I've been trying for almost 2 years. Even if I only used 1 digital test per cycle, that would be hundreds of dollars. I can buy a 50 pack of cheap tests like a pregmate for like 20 bucks, and that will last at least 9 months. Although, I've never posted on here asking about a test since mine are always clearly negative. I don't know why folks ask about the ones thay are clearly positive. But like some other folks have said they probably just need someone else to validate it for them. Plus I'll add that the cheap tests are often more sensitive than the digital and will show results earlier.
