I could possibly help
Like mentally. Maybe some words of wisdom. I’m scared but I’m happy.
I’ve lost 3 back to back before this current pregnancy. I’ve learned to take it day by day. Two of my losses were missed miscarriages so I had no clue anything was as wrong until we went in for an ultrasound. I bought myself a Doppler and every so often listen for his heartbeat and I’ve found it. I’ve also learned a new hobby to help not make myself dwell on everything
@Kristian Larger I’m so sorry for your losses 😞 did you find out what caused them? I’m pregnant following a MMC and the anxiety is eating me alive.
@Kristian Larger This was me before my son was born. He was my fourth pregnancy. And I had to do what you’re describing here: just keep taking it day by day. It was the only way I got through. It was also helpful for me to seek some emotional support from some close friends. It helped a lot. And keeping busy at work! So sorry about your losses. Wishing you all the best for the remainder of your pregnancy.
I had a missed miscarriage April last year, as above, didn’t know anything was wrong until I went for a scan. I then fell 3 months later and my little boy is now 11 weeks old! All I can say is take it day by day. I also got myself a Doppler and when I felt anxious I checked baby. Although please do your own research as early on it’s not always easy to detect anything and you need to make sure you know what you’re hearing. It also became a little obsessive until I could feel him moving. I also found taking about any anxiety I was feeling helped. You will always feel anxiety and scared due to your previous loss and I don’t think that ever goes away. It is just a case of take each day as it comes x
I had 2 miscarriages before my daughter and when I was pregnant I was so anxious the whole time. It’s like I knew too much of what could go wrong. You’re going to be scared and somedays worse than others but NOTHING YOU DO can change any outcome. I focused on one day at a time. I’d say “today, I am pregnant”. Take it day by day, sometimes you’ll take it hour by hour
@Fenella it turns out I tested positive for a disorder called Antiphospholipid Syndrome (APS). Basically my immune system attacked the baby and forms clots. I’ve been meeting with a hematologist for it, I have my next appointment in an hour.
@Sophie thank you 🤍
Hi, I found the book ‘pregnancy after loss’ by Zoe Clark Coates soooo helpful. I’m still working through the daily tasks now. I also have CBT therapy, which has been so good for anxiety levels. My pregnancy was quite tricky as I’ve got hyperemesis and the loss shortly before I got pregnant definitely made me a lot more anxious!
I had a missed miscarriage due to Triploidy and then had a second miscarriage. I am now pregnant for a 3rd time and I am 32 weeks. Im not gonna lie I was in a tough spot mentally until I started consistently feeling her move everyday. I think just take it day by day and remember that your body is meant to do this and just because you had losses previously doesn’t mean every pregnancy is destined to end in loss. You got this!
Hi @Haley just wondering if you found out what the second loss was caused by? My first was caused by Tripoloidy as well and I’m pregnant again and so so stressed about a second miscarriage….
I never found out :( I miscarried at home and everything came back inconclusive when we sent it for testing. It breaks my heart not knowing more about baby #2. My doc doesn’t think it was triploidy though because that’s pretty rare
We got the ultrasound today
