Just need to vent..

Anyone else a “stay at home/work from home” mom? I have been really struggling lately with finding a good work/mom balance. During the work day my instinct is mom comes first but when something urgent comes up I handle it as soon as possible. I usually let most tasks sit for a while before beginning it because we have nap times and diaper changes that are more important to handle. My work performance is hurting right now because I’m so exhausted from moming and I have no motivation to work. I dont know how this is sustainable for moms in our generation.. so if youve found a way to make this workout let me know lol.

I have yet to even secure a wfh job so I couldn’t even tell you. I still am trying to balance sleep, self care , cooking daily activities and house work. Idk how I’ll manage a job without those things in order. I would say make a plan try to stick to it. Eliminate all distractions if possible. So eliminate things that may make you procrastinate on important task

I haven’t found a way to balance it all but my job hasn’t fired me yet. Just remember to try to take care of yourself. Just because you’re at home all day doesn’t make your job less real. You work two full time jobs at the same time, most people don’t do that. Please be sure to ask for help and take breaks when needed if you have a good support system.

Have you thought about hiring someone for only a couple of hours so you can try and get some work done. Maybe for the morning to o do mid morning snack play lunch nap and then she leave after nap.

My husband and I can't afford childcare for both kids so we pass the baby (12 months) between us during the workday. We spend our lunch time and breaktimes with the baby, work during his naps and we each give each other a solid blocks of uninterrupted time. He plays in the room with us independently and then when he wants attention or a snack then it's break time. It's stressful when we're both on conferences or meetings but we stay organized as best we can.

@Veronique thought about it yes, have the funds to hire someone no :/

@Adrielly I love the organization and teamwork here! Thats awesome you guys can manage the back and forth because I agree with meetings and calls it gets hectic

What if it was a teen who want practice babysitting since you will be home and you can pay them something like $10 an hour

@Veronique I definitely could try that! I feel like ive just given up because so many people say they will help and never follow through

I WFH with a toddler and never found a good balance. I'm on a PIP because of it 😔. My husband knows I really enjoy my job so he quit his job and found a second shift job so he can watch her while I work. It's the only way I can get work done.

It's not really sustainable. We have our daughter in full-time care because even though we both wfh, it would be impossible to give our daughter the care she needs and still do our jobs. Can you switch to working off hours when she's asleep? So you have a partner or family who can take over for a few hours for you to get some work done?
