@Aja multi level marketing [ETA: "network marketing] - 'jobs' where you have to pay to work for the company (for starter packs and/or websites/backrooms). Then you sell overpriced items, but are incentivized to buy your own product and the only actual money is made by recruiting people (pyramid scheme). They usually try to rope people in by saying you can "work from anywhere/work from your phone" and have full work life balance but really you have to hustle haaaaaard. And even then the system is rigged against you, so when you or others quit because it's ultimately a giant scam they say you didn't work hard enough "your why wasn't strong enough". Only the people at the top make money because it's rigged that way, and you almost always go into debt and never make money. Stuff like that~
Would you be interesting in network marketing hun xxx
@Amanda I applied!!
@Aja Red flags include "work life balance", "time freedom" (LIE), "be your own boss", "own your own company", saying that all companies are shaped like a triangle/pyramid so there's obvi isn't a scam, "you share your coffee on social media, and Starbucks isn't paying you but X will", never actually saying what the company is until they've already sucked you in. They typically strongly target moms, SAHMs, disabilities particularly in children (ADHD) and postpartum (mental health), "I just started this to pay for groceries", having coaches or uplines, having to talk to someone on a call to help you make the decision, over-emphasis on your like personal growth. Ultimately - if you have to pay to make money: it's a scam. Also - I just watched Amanda's video on her site to get reminded of a lot of the red flags. So. Ding ding 🚩
@Aja check out Hannah Alonzo's MLM Horror Stories videos on YouTube just in case if you're curious if she's scammy
@Julia okay!
MLMs are 1099 contract workers. I'm not gonna go into the pathos here. The FTC confirms that those in MLMs make little to no money OR lose money. Better yet!! The MLMs do too! Amway's Income Disclosure statement says that the TOP 50% make $3500 (average) or $650 (median) ANNUALLY. https://consumer.ftc.gov/articles/multi-level-marketing-businesses-pyramid-schemes#:~:text=You%20might%20think%20that%2C%20with,some%20of%20them%20lose%20money.
@Aja They're Melaluca. They're an MLM that lies about being an MLM https://youtu.be/BI51hu-mRlc?si=53VnLrLQchSHtunI
@Amanda Amway was the example you brought up. I was using it as an example. Nah. But if you want to ever talk about why you're targeting vulnerable women on an app that should be a safe space, then sure!
@Amanda I am giving her information and encouraging doing research of her (and others') own accord - which is discouraged within MLMs. I have facts and resources. If those are "damning an entire work force" - sounds like those feeding that workforce are pretty evil to me. Just because I disagree with you does not mean that I am "mean and bullying" - more flagrant MLM misinformation because your tactics don't stand up to facts which include your own numbers. The Melaluca income disclosure statement says that its "Product Advocates" distributors make $100-500 annually. The same document goes on to imply (because of course it can't be explicit, that must seem ~scammy~) that recruitment is REQUIRED to make any form actual income (only 7% of the company). https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTN8c1JBY/ ETA: BRUH. Why is the "Time to Achieve" those higher ranks 1 month to 29 years?! 😂 (not wholly relevant, but terribly amusing nonetheless)
I think you can apply for energy company posts like OVO they have work from home remote type jobs (uk based) x

@Julia I sell Arbonne and girlfriend you are incredibly wrong. Working an MLM is extremely beneficial. I have tons of mom friends successful at it and we work on our own timer. We realize it takes work, but that’s any business. This is no different. It also doesn’t cost tons to start … it’s $50 for your business kit right now.
@Laura-Lynn Legitimate jobs don't have you pay to work for them. https://youtu.be/Jv1R3KyV6_M?si=UcMGlPqhJhPEkf2l
@Julia it’s not a job … it’s a business. You have to invest in a business.
@Julia girl you can knock it all you want. I’m living proof that it works IF YOU WORK. My friends are also living proof and we’re all such a tight community from it. Take your negative vibes elsewhere.
@Amanda same with my friends and I. I’m a solo-mom, working full-time and I still run it on the side for a couple extra hundred per month. That’s what I choose to put into it. My other friend makes a couple thousand per month, because she is able to solely focus on it. You get what you give and that’s what a lot of people do not understand.
Perhaps I'm a mean girl - Y'know, with facts from your own companies and all. But I'm not preying on vulnerable women for my own financial gain.
I agree with @Julia about MLMs. They’re predatory and are just a slightly more palatable version of the now-illegal pyramid schemes. Also, for anyone who’s into clean products, Melaleuca is not actually as clean as it claims to be. Lots of 3-5 (yellow/moderate hazard) ratings on the EWG site. There are way cleaner products out there (including that you can buy from Target or Amazon) where you don’t have to pay money to have the “privilege” of buying those products as a “member”. Just my $0.02!
@Julia like I said, there’s tons of misinformation out there. And I want to be the voice to smash it because there are reputable MLM companies and Arbonne is one of them.
I agree with @Amanda on if @Julia or @Rebecca have any experience with MLM’s? Sure, there are some that suck, but there are others that are amazing.
@Julia as far as your chart is concerned for the pay scale, I’d like to remind you that the company itself still needs to put a lot of money into the quality of the ingredients and manufacturing of the product. If they paid the consultant as much as what they earn, where is the money for the product? People love putting these charts out there, with zero context on what goes into it. Again, I’m sorry you’re so misinformed, but I’m always happy to help you be better educated on it.
@Julia what part of the pay is abysmal exactly? Remember I said you get out what you put into it. If you want to work less, than you receive less. It’s like any other business you would try to start.
@Julia you are leaving out that the majority of people who aren’t making money with an MLM are signed up as distributors to get a distributor discount and don’t actually plan on making it into an income stream.
@Laura-Lynn I have not and never will participate in an MLM, but I’ve known people who have only made small amounts of money (or lost money) despite putting in countless hours. My mom was part of the Melaleuca MLM for years and because of the member requirements, she always had to buy way more products than she needed each month (thus spending more money than she needed to). She eventually left because our house was full of products and she was just wasting money every month. She was also part of a prominent essentials oils MLM until some shady stuff went down with that company and her up line distributor got kicked out. I personally have no interest being part of a company that takes advantage of the majority of its people, where most people make little to no profit, and that likely has unethical business practices.
@Amanda The site you linked is deceptive because nowhere does it mention Melaleuca. It just talks about making money as a mom in a sounds-too-good-to-be-true way. Legitimate businesses with integrity clearly disclose their services, what their employees’ roles are, and what companies they partner or work with. People should not have to provide their personal information on your site to find out that your team is recruiting people to be in their downline for the Melaleuca MLM. Something to think about if this business venture is as above-board as you say it is 🤷♀️
Amanda is gone (lol), but I have this video for her or others. https://youtu.be/LxRnCLqU0Sk?si=lfXuYv7VdWSvT70m

@Julia I feel it’s time to let this go. You are bullying those that are passionate about this type of work. Everyone is just defending themselves, I understand that. Let’s just all agree to have our differences and move on.
@Laura-Lynn just because I disagree and am providing support and resources to my point is not bullying. Just because I disagree I am not a "mean girl". Try to watch the video
@Julia girlfriend you are not posting anything but videos that are just more opinions. None of these resources are valid.
@Laura-Lynn I posted documents from your MLMs themselves as well as a document from the FTC.
@Julia if it’s not the opportunity for you, then it’s not for you. End of story. Walk away. Let it go. Move on. Have a blessed day. Amen.
@Rebecca that happens to many people. It’s typically about your upline and how they train you to be successful in the business. Mine has been amazing with Arbonne and there’s never been any pressure to literally purchase anything and I’ve still found success.
@Laura-Lynn You do you. But I sincerely hope that any moms who might be considering an MLM review the excellent resources Julia provided and don’t get sucked into these predatory schemes!
@Julia you’re still going? Nothing wrong with the numbers on those docs. My best friend is an NVP. She makes 6 figures a year and loves it. You get what you give. The FTC is not a reliable source. Lots of missing information. You do you boo. Peace out.
I don't have any suggestions, but watch out for MLMs. They're even on the job sites.
