I am really enjoying Thai food and roasted pork belly with basmati rice, just don't have too much rice. Bunless burgers. Taco bowls. Indian curry, home made not from a jar so you know there's no sugar. Cottage pie with vegetable mash on top instead of potato. Pumpkin soup with high protein rye bread on the side. Roast chicken salad wraps.
Don’t have a lot of ideas but just wanted to say you’re not alone - I feel the same, I’ve only just been diagnosed a week ago at 14 weeks and I’m already feeling uninspired and like I’m eating the same things everyday! Chicken would usually be my go to protein but I can’t stomach it this pregnancy which I’m struggling with! I had salmon with new potatoes, broccoli and asparagus last night which I really enjoyed, but generally finding that I look at recipes and I just don’t fancy anything!
I was diagnosed around week 16 and am now 33 weeks pregnant and I felt exactly the same. It’s a good idea to learn about food pairing so you can eat pasta but with high protein. Once I had got my head around pairing things became so much easier. You will also find foods you like which are good with your GD it is just trial and error. I’ve found for breakfast a bowl of Greek low fat yoghurt with fruit is and doesn’t impact my sugar levels. Other days I have egg and sausage and one slice of wholemeal toast. It’s what works for you xx
Thank you, ladies! What's extra challenging is that I have a twin pregnancy, so two placentas messing with insulin! I've just got to the point where I'm sick of greek yoghurt, peanut butter, and I'm so exhausted my enthusiasm and imagination has run out. I just want to go out and get fish and chips or eat a jam doughnut, y'know? Also, finding finger pricking a massive drag. Might try and get a continuous glucose monitor at my next appointment
I was same sick of chicken , ratatouille is easy one and can freeze also look up https://pinchofnom.com/ Lots of easy recipes x
