CMPA (Maybe?)

So my LO has been on Aptimil pepti 1 for almost 2 weeks now and at first was doing amazing on it but now all of the previous symptoms have come back. It took awhile to get to this point through GP to begin with as they wanted to try omeprazole first. Will they change milk again so soon? And if so what do they generally try next? Anyone had a similar experience with pepti1?

Pepti 1 still has dairy in it, it’s just broken down to see if they’ll tolerate it. If you think the symptoms are still there, go back to the GP (I had to argue) and ask to be put on a none cows milk formula. My little one was on Neocate for a while until he started becoming irritable so for put onto Alfimino (both don’t have dairy in) He was on this for 8 months and was fine. As soon as he turned 1 the GP stopped prescribing it so we moved onto soya milk. He’s now 2, stilll on soya milk and after a number of failed attempts of the milk ladder, were now on step 3 (he has 1 chocolate digestive a day) and seems to be coping okay. Step 4 is cheese so I’m a little bit nervous for this one, but hopefully in a few weeks we’ll try. But definitely go back and argue if you have to, don’t let them fob you off.

My local guidelines say they have to first prescribe hydronalyzed formula then hydronalyzed formula without lactose then, amino acid formula, my boy reacted to the first two then I had to see a paediatrician to tell the GP to prescribe amino acid xx

@Hannah we just got given the amino acid off the GP after he continued to react to the pepti1. This was before our referral to the dietician.
