Thank you! Did you like them and how they treated you etc?
Old post but did you go private in the end?
@Naomi hey! I haven’t made the leap to go private actually. I found the options quite overwhelming… so still waiting on the NHS! But in the meantime I’m managing it with things like educating myself, lots of self care, some therapy etc
I did go private, with the help of my partner. The whole process is simply overwhelming. My father in law is a gp and recommended the adhd centre. We called on a Tuesday and was assessed and diagnosed In the same call on the Friday . I’m lucky that when I approached my gp after the diagnoses they agreed sharedcare - they’re not listed under right to chose but I explained I did it out of desperation. They will take over once tritiation is complete and a prescription is set.. It wasn’t cheap but it is worth it x
I went through Berkeley Psychiatrists. They do online appointments and will handle your diagnosis and medication (if that's what you choose to do) up to a point where it's stable and then you can ask for a 'shared care agreement' with the GP so you can get the medication on the NHS but the psychiatrist will still oversee your treatment every 6 months or so.
