Leaving job

So I’m not returning to my current work place once my maternity leave has finished and I was due to go back on 28th September or the 29th October if I took all the holiday I have accrued. I was wondering whether I’m still entitled to the holiday pay if I don’t go back and whether it’s a legal requirement for them to pay me it

I’m not going back to my current job as I’ve been offered a job at my old work place from august. My current boss still needs to pay me my holiday and bank holidays that I’ve accrued during my mat leave x

Not sure how it works on maternity leave but if you gave notice normally they can either pay you out for holiday or make you take it during your notice period. So if you had 4 weeks notice and 5 days holiday but they really needed you to work they would have to pay you extra 5 days in last pay check. If they didn’t need You, they would just count that 5 days holiday in your notice period and you would get normal pay check. So I’d imagine on mat leave they would just count your holiday within your notice period(which would be within your mat leave) and pay you extra if there was any left over. If you gave notice after mat leave they could technically make you work notice.

You are still entitled to the holiday accrued up until you ‘officially’leave 😊

I got given a job at another place on Tuesday and I need to contact my current workplace to tell them I’m leaving but notice is usually 4 weeks

Yes if you left they would pay your holiday for whatever you accrued to that date.

Be careful how you word any emails as you don't want it to appear that you are handing your notice in now as they will stop your mat pay after the 4 week notice period. You could wait until 4 weeks before you are due to return or if you are on good terms just say that you won't be returning at the end of your mat leave and give the dates (notice to start from x date with my last day with the company being y date) xx

@Becky my new job want me to contact them so that they can get a reference

In which case I would send them an email but be specific regarding dates xx
