@Tasha they gave us all £1100 but we spent the cash as we had other bills - like our boiler needed looking at and my husband needed a new part for some tools, but we just assumed we could pay the car place by credit card 🫣
Go somewhere else and get it done or ask around friends/ family to help you out. Not much you can do other than those things
See if you can get a money transfer from your cc.
Can you not go elsewhere, somewhere that will accept credit cards?

Seeing as it's a family friend, ask if you could set up a payment plan?
Put things on credit card that you would normally pay for out of your bank account to free up the cash to pay. Or do a balance transfer from your credit card to your bank account but check about fees first!
Some credit cards allow you to withdraw cash , just make sure you check what fees apply for this.
So did your neighbour give you £1,100 p fix he car or only part of it?
