18 weeks and high blood sugars

Hi I am on a closed loop pump, I have been since I was 7 weeks pregnant and since going on holiday at 15 weeks, my bloods have been crazy out of control, like I have been just reading high for the past 2 hours even though I’m giving corrections. I don’t know what to do, I get so emotional and worried everyday, I have a phone call with my doctor at the end of the week, but just wondering if baby will be ok or if anyone experienced anything similar?

How high are your readings? Around 16 weeks is when the insulin resistance starts to kick in. Your blood sugars will go high sometimes, unfortunately it cannot be avoided, but a few hours a day (depending how high) should not cause any issues. When you talk to your doctor they will probably adjust the carb ratio. I've been on the closed loop system for over a year and it's been a lifesaver during pregnancy. Just needs adjustments every now and then since our bodies go crazy during pregnancy ☺️

They can literally be one way or another, it’s comforting knowing I’m doing what I can, and that it could be insulin resistance, thank you

Hi Neve, I’m also 18 weeks and on closed loop. If it’s any reassurance my sugars are definitely starting to spike and so making changes every few days. If you want to chat more feel free to reach out. Xx

thank you, I’m so worried! I’m counting down the days until I can speak to my doctors x

I'm sure doctors are expecting it. Unfortunately we cannot avoid the insulin resistance and the spikes, but as long as it doesn't last for days, it should be fine. We are only human and there's only so much we can control. My doctors are very understanding and kind, I hope yours are too ☺️

my nurses/doctors remind me I can call them in between apts. Could you consider that , if it’s causing alot of stress/you’re worried?

Help

I was getting pretty painful period cramps and during those, I had painful lower back cramps. I had these on and off for like a few hours so from about 10:30pm to 1am?

I’ve had no show, or anything like that.

Is this braxton hicks or early labour pains?

Anyone else felt like this?

Hi, I’m 4 months postpartum, little one sleeps through the night and is formula fed, the last week I’ve felt extremely tired and very hungry! Just wondered if anyone else has felt this way/experienced this?

Early waters/pre term labour?

I can’t get checked until later today unfortunately. I can’t tell if I’m leaking/starting early. I definitely think I’m having braxton hicks yesterday and today.. i have some pain in my back but she is quite low down so hoping it’s just pressure, baby was a little quieter yesterday but she’s back to more normal movements today, but my underwear just seems to get so wet, especially after going to the bathroom. And I honestly can’t work out the smell, I’m pretty sure it’s just discharge/urine leaking but there’s that worry in my mind a little. Are there any other ways to know/check if it could be the start of it all?
