me and my partner have done shared ownership on a house, for us it was the best option as of we were going to buy fully we wanted a big deposit in which we could not afford at the moment. with shared ownership it has allowed us to put a smaller deposit to pay a smaller amount back. obviously it will be different for everyone but for us it has been the best option
I agree with @Leah. Me and my husband brought a house via shared ownership last year and it has honestly been so great for us and was definitely the right thing for us at the time to get onto the housing ladder. Do you research as it won’t be right for everyone 😊

If the option is there, ALWAYS go for a freehold property. Shared ownership is a scam. I’ve had 2 friends who are essentially mortgage prisoners, can’t afford to sell so stuck where they are. https://www.glamourmagazine.co.uk/article/shared-ownership-pros-and-cons
