@Deanne ahh really- I’ve just found a calculator through the gov website so going to give that a go. I’m not hopeful at all🤣
If your partner earns over a certain amount you can’t get anything extra Think it’s £50,000 which seems like a lot but in this day and age (esp after big tax) doesn’t actually go very far so they should up the limit IMO!
Like others have said it depends on your partners wage. I’m not working this time round but with my first we claimed uc alongside smp and my partners wage. His wage was up and down as he was self employed at the time which meant some months we didn’t get much but every little helps so it’s work a try. The benefits calculators online aren’t accurate either btw, it told me we wouldn’t be entitled but we were. It also makes a difference if you own your house instead of rent as you wouldn’t get the housing element of it
Yes, I get smp and universal credit. It fluctuates every month depending on how much my husband gets paid but definitely worth applying for it
@Berlind how much they would pay from universal Credit before the baby and once it is born?
@Berlind ah amazing thank you- my partner gets paid pretty much the same every month but he deffo doesn’t earn over the threshold to not be entitled to it so I’ll make sure I apply x
@Katia I get £287.92 for my first child but when I was back at work that amount was deducted from my payment as I was earning too much. Not sure yet how much it is if you have more than 1 child. For overall amount, it’s different every month depending on how much I and my husband have earned that month as we’re both on hourly pay
I don't think it's possible, they look at your combined earnings and assets as well. I've done a calculator for my partner as he's part-time but he's not eligible for anything
