Fit to fly certificate needed? BA

We’re going on holiday to Sweden soon, will be 27 weeks when we fly and 28 when we return. Tried contacting British Airways today to find out if I need a fit to fly certificate, on the website it says you can’t fly after 36 weeks for single pregnancy. Has anyone flown with them/or know?

@Charley great thanks 👍

@Anna saying that an airline can ask you to show doctor prove at any point. As they may think you look very pregnant for example. I am flying in August and I will go to my gp for a certificate just in case

@Conchi no it is airline specific. BA say you need letter from doctor or midwife but dont say a gestation, so it's needed throughout. Whereas easyJet you don't need at proof at all but you can fly up until 35 weeks. Ryanair you need a fit to fly from 28 weeks onwards. An employee cannot ask for something that's not in the airlines policy

I fly with Norse at 25 weeks and they don’t require anything until 27 but I’m still gonna bring my hospital notes to prove how many weeks I am: flying British airways on the way back and definitely having a letter for that as it doesn’t state weeks on their website but the fact you need to have a letter from midwife

I just flew with BA at 22 weeks. I had a fit to fly because I didn’t want to get turned away, but they never checked in either direction. Probably because my bump wasn’t overly big!
