Same!! I have insurance and they only cover up too 200 a day for private. My bill at milton hospital was 250 a day..... 6000 is crazy .. even 3000
Are you a Canadian citizen or have a valid visa? None of the hospitals in Canada will send a bill that high unless you are not a resident/have a valid visa. The rooms do not cost more than $400 max for a fully private room. The general ward would be even cheaper.
I think she did not have public health insurance, OHIP, which is why she said she was uninsured. If she had OHIP then the cost of a ward room would have been $0.

6080!? That does not seem right, I gave birth in November of last year at William osler etobicoke and with insurance it cost me 300, but I did my research and called them and without insurance standard should have been covered by ohip, semi private is 280/day and 310/day for private. Why on earth did you get a bill for 6080? Sorry, I'm mad on your behalf because that's just such a ridiculous amount
