Are you in the US?
Yes 👍🏼
Sorry no advice I’m not in US. But I would go for one that has good cash back, low interest/no annual fee etc. not sure if banks in the US offer any of these. Good luck! :)
I used Credit Karma to find a card when I was trying to build my credit.
@kate that’s actually what I just got done doing. I’ve been approved but I have to put down a $200 deposit first… is that normal
It depends on the type of card. Most - no. But if you are approved for a certain type then you put done a certain. Amount and that's also your credit limit.
Capitol one has some good choices, especially if this is your first credit card may have to get a secured credit card depending on your credit history. Also, I would check whoever you bank with. If it's asking for a deposit, that's a secured credit card. As long as you have good payment history they will refund it within 6 months usually.
Capital one Journey Card only use 30% of the amount approved to boost your credit score
I'd look into a credit union instead of a regular bank. Also, because this is your first credit card, you may have to get one more geared toward that. If you can, I'd get a rewards credit card with as low an interest rate as possible through a credit union. I say a rewards credit card because you say you want to use it for travel, etc.
Capital one or Bank of America
