Am I still in with a chance?

My period was due yesterday. I took an early detection test on Saturday morning (first thing in the morning). It was clearly negative. Not even a hint of a shadow. I still haven't started my period (I'm usually bang on or jump forwards a few days). My question is, despite it clearly being negative so close to my period, could I still be in with a chance? I intend on testing in a couple of days. I'm just trying not to get my hopes up because I've had 2 miscarriages in the last two years and we just desperately want a sibling to complete our family.

Definitely still possible. You aren’t out till the period shows but it also could just be to stress or just normal changes that your period is late or that you ovulated later

@Gabrielle Thank you for your reply. It's just so hard to wait and not let your imagination run wild. This would be perfect if it actually turns out to be true.

I learned how to check my cervix so that I don’t have false hope. If it’s high and tight you might be pregnant but if it’s low and open then your cycle is about to start
