TTC after methotrexate

Although I’ve been told we need to wait 3 months after having the methotrexate injection due to possible abnormalities, I’ve also read lots of people have been given different information. I’ve gone down a rabbit hole of reading published medical studies and none of these find any issues with the baby after having methotrexate and conceiving quickly afterwards. It seems to be the drugs company covering themselves more than anything. What is everyone’s experiences? Has anyone been told differently or conceived shortly after MTX and happy to share?

Hey! I’m in the same boat as you, my 3 months were up last week. Following as I am worried too! I was told by the dr in hospital that we should be really fertile for up to a year after so that’s positive x

We were advised to wait 3 months which I think was good for me. I spent that time focusing on improving my mental and physical health to be ready for my next pregnancy. It took us 3 cycles of trying to get pregnant and now we have a beautiful healthy 18 month old.

Hi girls, so sorry to hear about your experiences, hope you’re all doing okay. I was prepped for the injection but ended up having to have emergency surgery due to the amount of internal bleeding so I also lost a tube. But when they were explaining the 3 month wait post injection, the doctor told me on the downlow that it’s really 2 months but they have to say 3 to give a buffer. Having said that if I had the injection, I wouldn’t have chanced it personally. We ended up waiting 3 months anyway, although didn’t have to with the surgery in theory. Like Elle I was trying to use this time to focus on my physical and mental health and put myself in the best position to try again. Babydust to all xx

I was given the same information and conceived within the 3 months of my first dose. I gave birth to a healthy baby boy in April, only complication I suffered with was high bp towards the end of my pregnancy x
