@Alice thank you lovely. I get so confused with it all the cycles I think especially as I haven’t bled/had a period whilst on the pill for years so have no clue what my ‘cycle’ is x
Took it for around 10 years and it took me 6 months to get pregnant x
It's only been a week, you'll take a good few weeks at least to start ovulating again. It took me a few cycles after coming off the combined pill to get a regular cycle - it might be worth tracking them or using ovulation strips to help you learn your new cycle
First time, before my first period after stopping the pill- 6 weeks after stopping and no bleeding, so I tested and got a positive. Second time, first cycle of trying but I had been off of the pill for 2 months that time. I’ve been on the mini pill for over 15y (with breaks for conceiving and pregnancy, obviously!)
It took 12 months for my body to normalise after coming off the pill, and I’d been on it 7 years by that point. But I fell pregnant soon after that. But I have friends who have had positive pregnancies without having a period/ bleeding, so it is possible!
@Jude thanks lovely. I had never thought about ovulation strips do you recommend any in particular or shall I just head to boots?
@Chloe oh this is amazing. I’m so happy for you and hopeful this will happen for me xx
Thanks all who have responded xx
I was on the mini pill for 12 years, came off it and was pregnant within 6 months 😊 It took 6 ish weeks for my period to come back after stopping the pill btw! And second what the other comments say, defo would recommend ovulation strips. I got the easy@home ones off amazon! X
@Sarah thanks for this info lovely and a huge congratulations xx
I was on the pill for a year with no stopping. Decided my body needed a weeks break. Went back on the pill after a week. I had missed 2 days and I fell unexpectedly pregnant. Good luck 💗
I came off the progesterone only pill after 12 years in which time I never had a period. Had a very small period / withdrawal bleed after 2 weeks and got pregnant a month after coming off the pill. I also have PCOS so I was very surprised how quickly it happened.
@Rebecca that’s amazing, really pleased for you lovely. Were you actively trying and tracking when you were ovulating? X
I was on the mini pill for around 6 years, I came off the in June 2023 and got pregnant in Feb 2024, so 8 months after coming off the pill. My periods came back after about 2 weeks of being off the pill. So had 7/8 periods before I got pregnant. Now 21 weeks and due in November!

Yes we were actively trying and I was tracking ovulation. I didn't track it over the weekend we likely conceived as I'd run out of tests but the tests before and after that weekend showed ovulation was highly likely :)
I've been off my pill for nearly a year and not pregnant yet. Was on it for about a year I think or so. I was on the one that you came off for a week (though my doctor said to do 4 days) that go back on for 3 weeks
I was on the pill for 10 years and it took 6 months with the first. This time I was on it for 3 years ish and it took 7 months with the second.
I'm the same, where I had no periods on the pill. I'm in the same boat as you - come off contraception last month but have had a withdrawal bleed, now waiting for a period. With my 2.5 year old I came off the pill 3 months before I planned to start trying (used condoms before I actually wanted to fall). I was pregnant 2 months after stopping, first cycle trying!
I had the implant not the pill, but had it removed on 20th May, period came in 25th may and I’m now 6 weeks pregnant, so first cycle post implant xxx
I came off mine early before we even wanted to start trying I was on the combined pill non stop from 19 till 31. I stopped in August 2022. We started trying in April 2023 (when j say trying we weren't trying that hard) and we convinced in July 2023
Took me 11 cycles after coming off the pill to fall pregnant (took 3 months for my period to come back) but everyone is different ☺️ Have patience with your body, it’ll happen x
