Potty training neurodivergent child?

Does anyone have experience potty training neurodivergent kiddos? My son is 3 and either ADHD/Autistic or both. He definitely has interest in the toilet, and will often go at least a little when we put him on it, but he doesn't always tell us when he has to go. He goes to a special daycare for kids with delays/special needs, and thankfully they are very patient with him, but I am honestly tired of paying for diapers and changing diapers. I am a teacher and had planned to focus on potty training over the summer but haven't been able to start. He is our first and only child so far, so I have no experience with potty training. Any advice?

What methods have you tried so far? My son likely has adhd so I get it.

(He’s six now and does go on the potty so there’s hope! 🥰)

I haven't tried much yet beyond trying to follow his cues and encourage potty use. I literally have no idea where to start with him. I know there is hope and I believe that, I'm just hopelessly lost 😅
