My friend had to do 6 IUI to get pregnant! Both her and her husband are healthy.
@Sel that happens to some women. With every IUI, the chances increase. Because of the fact that im already 34, i dont want to keep continuing IUIs if its not going to work out for me. So we already have an appt scheduled for ivf consultation in case this one fails. Every IUI, just like every cycle, is different so it could be different factors outside of both partners being healthy that causes the IUIs to fail.
I've had 5 unsuccessful IUIs. Fertility clinic couldn't give me an explanation either. I'm pausing now to explore my endo a bit more to see if that could be my issue. But in theory just having endometriosis shouldn't be preventing me from getting pregnant.
Unfortunately the success rates aren’t as good as you would think for IUI
Thanks ladies! I think I just need to adjust my mindset!
I did 7 IUIs and none of them unfortunately worked. Sometimes you just need to keep trying. I was putting a lot of pressure on myself when it did not work, but in reality in normal circumstances couples do not get pregnant every several months, so I think it is all about timing, your readiness and the continual attempts to get pregnant. Good luck!
We had 6 failed IUIs before moving to IVF. Our forst IVF transfer was successful and we are now 22 weeks.
Just started on 2nd IUI after first also failed despite everything in perfect condition. There is still a low enough chance for IUI success but it does seem to be better the more rounds you do. I was told that 3 IUIs are recommended before moving to IVF, so if I can manage it, I will do the 3rd back to back and then move onto IVF quite quickly.
It can be many factors to why IUIs fails. Also, IUIs have a low success rate as well, so that is something to take into consideration. IUI #1 for me failed and everything was perfect so im currently on IUI #2. If this cycle fails, then its onto IVF.
