My lo is the same, if he wants me to play with him he will just come to me and give me his hand x
Nope all my kids play together and I also play with them and things or they play by them selves and I do house work I hardly go on my phone throughout the day only get evenings and nights where I can check like everything 😅
@Abi my baby is 11 months and doesn’t come to me unless she’s upset because she’s hungry 😭 she doesn’t care for me to play with her
My lo was the same at 11 months, he’s currently 16 months it does get better over time x
Its totally good for them to have independent play and enjoy that. I'm also guilty of the phone thing and constantly remind myself that just because she is playing independently doesnt mean she isnt looking to me for reassurance and if she constantly sees me on my phone, ignoring her it will become a problem. I try to glance up often or make sure I can also see her/keep my phone kinda hidden so I can easily show her my attention and interact if she looks up at me seeking that. Sometimes I just sit and enjoy watching her play without my phone because I know that's good for her and its honestly so fun watching her learn to do things. Sometimes I get down and play with her too, but its great when they can play on their own and work their imagination. 1/2
Even when I do play with her I usually just play quietly and let her do the talking or lead the activity sometimes I'll just quietly do the activity next to her so she can see how it works etc without feeling like I'm telling her shes doing it wrong. Like magnatiles or blocks I'll just build a little tower and she does her thing and sometimes she'll knock mine down. But shes always learning either observing or trying it her way. 2/2
Ya but they're fine. You're teaching what it looks like to relax, take care of yourself, and independent play like you said.
