Heat wave

How are other mamas getting their lil ones to sleep through the heat? I’m just wrapping him in wet blankets for the really hot nights but my skin had a really bad reaction to it and I’m worried it’ll start hurting him too. I bought a fan for us but it doesn’t work as well as expected. He won’t sleep without the wet blanket some nights though and it’s starting to stress me out

We ended up giving them their cold water bottles and have a fan on them all night and it’s been ok, they’re also sleeping in sorts and that’s it (but only so their diapers stay on) we keep their blinds closed all day too

If you can afford to get a portable a/c unit or a window a/c unit. I think it's worth it for their bedrooms. Just have to watch you dont overload the circuits if you're in an older home if you run more than one. We also have given our kiddos cold packs and ice packs before too. How old is your little one?

@Brett he’s 13 months or just turned 1 first of June. I’ve tried giving him ice packs but my mom loves taking them all so the wet blanket and the weak fan right now are all we have

Have you tried pet cooling mats you can buy? I put then under our sheets and they keep us chill through the night you can buy them in b&m

@Natasha that actually sounds like a great idea I don’t know how I didn’t think of that lol

I freeze them too but you dont have to

@Lily ugh, it's so tough to stay cool. Hopefully you can get some of those pet cooling mats to try! That sounds like a brilliant idea.

My kids snuggle ice packs
