Hey, I'd say first of all, contact the airline and ask for special assistance at the airport especially during security. Some airports also have quiet rooms, it's worth looking into that. Also if airline are aware, the flight attendants will also be helpful. Pack safe foods just in case they are not available where you are going. Noise cancelling headphones. I'd also say as she's 5, maybe start preparing her for the journey by showing her social stories about flying or reading books around that. I think to do whatever else you would normally do to prepare her for a new experience. Depending on her requirements, I'd also suggest emailing the hotel. For example, if she's sensitive to sound requesting for a room far from where they do the entertainment etc. Hope this helps x

Can I buy foods in the airport to take with me as was told can’t take from home ? Sounds daft I know but I have no idea iv got ear defenders for her and will look into the assistance too iv been showing her videos and pictures and explaining the whole process to her just so worried she had a melt down and with it being over crowded in the airport she gets over stimulated xxx

Depends what type of food. So usually if it's not cooked food, should be fine in luggage. Also I take snacks (nut free) in the hand luggage. The only thing you can't take through security is cooked food and liquids over 100ml. I used to carry formula cartons in the checked in luggage and had no issues. Most airports have a boots or whsmith where you can get sandwiches, snacks and drinks after security. Definitely contact airline about special assistance if she gets overstimulated by crowds. Does she like particular TV shows? If so downloading stuff on a tablet or phone can help to distract her. Or if she has specific toys she likes playing with xx

Iv downloaded all her films on iPad ready just the food that bothers me ill pack some bits in hang luggage for her we don’t fly out till tea time so will be fed before we get on plane and iv emailed airport for the assistance as that will need to be done ✔️ thank you x
