Open up all windows and doors and air the house out. For nice smell I just use a essential oil diffuser that’s all I’ve ever used, we don’t buy or use any sprays. I sometimes buy or make my own candles as well, from soy flakes and essential oils. We we really only use candles and the diffuser for a nice house smell
@Kellie your comment doesn't actually give any advice on how to actually get rid of bad odours that are in carpets and rugs, just hope to make a house she'll nice 😆
@Estelle I said open all windows and doors and air it out
Bicarb and a steam clean. If that doesn't work, maybe something like febreeze, or an odour eliminator, like this; https://www.xo2.com.au/shop/odour-kill-professional-odour-remover-treatment-18427#attr=483,479
You can use bicarb soda, it neutralises odours. A house I lived in years ago had one bedroom that I think the previous owners kept dogs in, it had a really strong dog smell, even though the carpets had been cleaned. I emptied a whole box of bicarb soda onto the carpet, left it there for a week and then vacuumed it up and the smell was gone
