My partner also has ADHD, my eldest has sensory processing and awaiting ADHD assessment (she had an occupational therapy assessment).. i am also going through the occupational therapy journey again with my younger 2, aged 3 and 2

@Jess ahh so when they do occupation therapy what exactly do they do x

It has changed slightly now and i think it depends on your regions to. Were trafford/manchester. So it can takes months to actually get the appointment, waiting lists here can be long. We had a telephone conversation to discuss my children and my conerns, they have then sent forms home for us to fill out for my daughters eating and 2 sensory forms, when they get them back they will decide wether they will come out and see her at home or in school and they will observe her in person and then give me their report and then go from there, if like my eldest we will be given information and helpful tips to help them with their sensory needs and witb regulation (or referred to other places for her eating if needed).. hope this helps, it's nothing to stress about honestly and i actially found them really helpful with my eldest x

@Jess ahh that’s great thank you

No problem :). There is a book called understanding your childs sensory signals which i found useful and my eldest isnt the best sleeper as in it can be 10/11 before she goes to sleep sometimes but in manchester we have a sleep service that we referred her to ourselves ans they were amazing, before that it was 10/11 at night every night till she finally stopped bouncing of the walls ans calmed down and went to sleep. Not sure if you have this service in your area but just incase you find it useful or useful in the future :) xx
