Breastfeeding/feeding group Portobello

I feel like there’s a huge gap in BF/feeding groups in the East, namely my local neighbourhood, Portobello. I’ve decided I’d love to set up a group to help support mums locally and have a space for us to come together and chat all things feeding. The one thing I do know that’s vital for BF support/info is someone that’s qualified as a breastfeeding counsellor/lactation specialist who would be on hand to help with Qs and specialist knowledge. Do you know someone who might be interested in offering this? And are you a porty mum looking for a group like this? I’d be really keen to hear from you if so :)

Hey, I am currently doing a course to become a breastfeeding support peer and would love to help if I could. I am half way through the course and I can ask for help from the lady who teaches the course. I also have BF my first born and currently bf feeding my second

Can you reach out to La Leche League Edinburgh? Or the Lothian Breastfeeding Buddies? They might well have volunteers available to help.

Hi, I used to live in the area and now I live in North Berwick. I’m a trained breastfeeding peer supporter and breastfed my 3 kids including twins. I already run a group in North Berwick. Unfortunately I couldn’t help out with a new one in Portobello but I can give some info about what is in the area. The most established groups are run by La Leche League and their breastfeeding counsellors are excellent. They run groups across Edinburgh but not in Portobello. I used to get the bus to the one at the west end of Princes St which was great.
