Postpartum Hypertension

I am currently a week and a half postpartum and my blood pressure has been elevated. I am currently being monitored. (While pregnant I did not have high blood pressure it was always normal) They want me to take my blood pressure at home and then they’ll go from there. Have any other moms experienced this? If so, how did you manage or were treated? I hate to google things because I tend to overthink things. I’m just a little worried. I just wanna be as healthy as I can for my babies.

The same thing happened to me. My readings were high enough that they had me go back into triage at the hospital. I was only there for a couple of hours, they gave me IV meds for the headache and a pill for BP and sent me home. Within a few days my readings went back to normal. I would suggest calling your doctor’s office and seeing what they say, especially if you also have a headache and/or swelling

Same thing happened to me. I’m still on blood pressure medicine 2 times a day after 2 ER trips I’m 1 month PP

@Marissa that’s what I’m afraid of going back to the hospital.. but anything to be healthy for my babies. I’m so scared that I’ve barely been eating. And I get headaches but they do end up going away with Tylenol after like half hour.

@Emmalie Weaver how are you holding up while taking the medication?

I’m much better than I was, the first 2 weeks was something awful

I’m currently going through the same thing. BP was high at 38 and 39 weeks pregnant. I ended up having to stay at the hospital at 39+5 days. I’m 4 days pp and my bp was high today and my feet are swollen. I’m going to the doctors tomorrow for them to check me out and take my bp again. I’m freaking out a little bit. I don’t have any other symptoms swollen feet so I don’t know, we will see tomorrow 😓

Yes same thing happened to me and one of my legs swole up real bad but they gave me meds and I been ok

@Tiffany hope everything goes well love! I know how scary it can be not knowing what to expect.

@Joneisha I have no swelling thank God. I just have on and off headaches. I’m worried.
