Can I get funded childcare on jobseekers allowance?

I'm out of work and need to get a job as soon as reasonably possible... I've found a nursery place for my 18 month old to start in September and can't risk losing it as we were so lucky to get one so soon. The problem is if I can't find a job in time I won't be eligible for the new funded hours... and I obviously can't pay for it without an income. The nursery are also quite strict and don't allow you to delay the start date either so I would lose her place if I can't get work in time. I'm trying to get an application sorted to claim jobseekers allowance in the meantime, does anyone know if this will make me eligible for the funded hours???
