Terrible sleeper

My 20 month old is still an awful sleeper. Wakes around 4 times in the night and has to come into my bed with me which I hate because I don’t sleep at all when he’s in bed as he takes up a lot of room and moves so much. I’ve tried transferring him back to bed once he’s asleep again but wakes within 30 mins without fail every time. Tried laying him back in his bed when he wakes but screams the place down. Even if I sit on the floor so he can see me. I’m getting so fed up with it feels like I’ve not had a full nights sleep since before I was even pregnant. Help!!!
