Contraceptives

How long did you wait after giving birth and what type of contraceptive did you all use? I’m just looking into different ones that will hopefully not mess with my hormones too much.

So a week after my first I went on nexplanon and didn't have any bad reactions. My period stopped all together. Then when my daughter was 2 and a half I got nexplanon removed and the very next month I got pregnant. After my youngest was born I asked for nexplanon again and my OB said he was too busy and didn't have time to put it in my arm hence baby number 3 is due November andy oldest is going to be 4 at the end of January my second daughter is going to be a year old next month and having a girl in November. I love the nexplanon bc I can get it removed when ever I wanted to try for another baby. I didn't have cramps or anything while on nexplanon and I didn't notice weight gain or acne

I did the Depo shot 2wks after my second was born. I did depo after my first as well but that was at my 6wk appointment as I didn’t realize I could start it earlier. Also you can do depo in the hospital right after giving birth if you want. I’ve been a fan of it this far…I didn’t get pregnant until I actively wanted to and I stopped it on my own time and didn’t need a doctor to remove it like the implant or an IUD…it stopped my periods all together the first time around (my second baby is only 2 months and I’m still bleeding due to c section I believe so waiting to see if I’m having a period or just other random bleeding from the healing process) and limited weight gain. My friend had the arm implant and she would have pains from how it was inserted (I would blame the doctor on this) and even after it was removed he still had pain for a period of time🫤 I had an IUD before I got pregnant with my first and I assume it came out or was improperly placed as I ended up pregnant 🙃

Natural cycles ! worked for me for when I did not want to get pregnant for a whole year. I highly recommend you look it up !
